Song of the Day: Marina and the Diamonds - Lies

I think I posted this song before, but not with THIS VIDEO.  Haunting.  Sad.  Beautiful.  True.

The theory of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming for Skeptics

I have not found it possible to have a rational discussion with someone who supports CAGW.  CAGW supporters, "warmists" if you will, seem to have a cult-like religious belief in their theories.

With that in mind, I found this link interesting.

"The theory of Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming for Skeptics" by Adam Wildavsky

Lots of good links and the start of some good discussion.

Life in the Police State

This is SCARY, and it is happening our our formerly free country.  I am sad to say that we don't deserve the freedom we have.  Not a problem, though, because we won't have it for long.  I'm sad to say that we, as a whole, are sheep.

"4th of July DUI Checkpoint - Drug Dogs, Searched without Consent, while Innocent"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-WMn_zHCVo

Notes to the video:

Published on Jul 4, 2013

The purpose of this video is to show that having certain rights counts to many police officers as being suspicious nowadays. This video was not meant to go after anybody's job or to sue anyone. In the end, I was let go with no charges. The officer later on tried to lie and say that I had "pot residue" in my car yet no evidence was obtained/tested to prove it. This video is not saying that all cops are bad or that all cops want to use their power to take away Constitutional rights from citizens. Cops are also not "pigs." I very much respect law enforcement. All that I want is for citizens to have respect from police.
Here are the numbers from the checkpoint that night:
» 250 vehicles passed through the checkpoint
» 20 vehicles were detained that required further investigation
» Three vehicles were searched
» One misdemeanor arrest was made
» 32 citations were issued: Two child restraint device citations, one DUI, 10 citations for violations of the registration law, four citations for violation of the light law, one revoked/suspended driver's license, six financial responsibility (no insurance), six other driver's license law violations, and two safety belt law violations.

Only one DUI arrest was made. One out of 250. That's less than one percent. It seems to me that these police checkpoints are nothing more than just fund raisers for themselves. http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/10/1... At a DUI stop, the police are only supposed to stop people for a short period of time to see if they are driving impaired. They are NOT supposed to be issuing citations to people.
Another reason why I disagree with checkpoints: In America, you are innocent until proven guilty. At checkpoints, that is pretty much reversed. In the future, I recommend that all motorists record their encounters with law enforcement.

More Leftist Hypocrisy

This is particularly embarrassing to me, because this is where I'm from (just across the border in Michigan).  Note that the people protesting this mining operation don't have a single word to say as the Indians continue to ACTUALLY pollute the water (see previous blog post, Bad River).

From the MacIver Institute:

"Protesters Verbally Assault Northern Wisconsin Miners (Warning: Graphic Language)"

http://www.maciverinstitute.com/2013/07/protesters-verbally-assault-northern-wisconsin-miners-warning-graphic-language/

Note: This is in IRON COUNTY, Wisconsin.  There is a long history of iron mining in the area, with no negative impact on the water.  The locals up there want the good mining jobs, union jobs by the way, that this new mining operation will bring.

Which brings up another point: When will union members realize that Democrats to NOT support more good jobs?  They are apparently even more beholden to crazy left-wing environmental nutjobs than they are to corrupt union scum.

Song of the Day: Sonia Rao - In My Room

Love this song.  Yes, I confess, I DID first hear it on Jersey Shore (hanging head in shame)!  But don't let that influence your opinion of the song.

Check out her site:

And her Kickstarter video for her next album:

"We must let go of the life we had planned so as to accept the one that is waiting for us."

Okay, one more song:

Where would you hide YOUR gun???

Here's a story that is simply hilarious.

From The Smoking Gun:
"Woman Who Hid Gun In Vagina Gets 25 Years"
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/loaded-gun-in-vagina-sentencing-576342

Do NOT forget to read the comments at the end of the story!!!

How do they know it belongs to her, it may have been left there by someone else.

Wonder if she said "I'll give you my gun when you can pry it from my cold dead vagina"?

Hiding hand guns in your vagina isn't the number one problem we have in this country but "it is right up in there"!

aka "sixcooter"

I bet she's a crack shot.

Gotta be careful though... supposedly that model has a hair trigger.

Now that truly is "one in the chamber"

Is that a gun in your vagina or are you just happy to see me!

Happiness, is a warm gun.

This is dedicated to President Obama

What do I think about our government spying on us, and the implication that it's okay now that Obama is in the White House, rather than someone like Bush?

Rather than get into a big long discussion on the topic, I thought that the following video kind of puts things into perspective.

"Nixon - When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal"

Scary stuff.  Not a comparison that fans of this president will like, but true nonetheless.
