Song of the Day: Marina and the Diamonds - Rootless
A Week of Marina (Day 2 of 7)
I've posted songs by Marina and the Diamonds before. Visit her official website here:

"I Am Not A Robot"
October 23, 2011:
Song of the Day: Marina and the Diamonds - Are You Satisfied?
"Are You Satisfied?" and "Obsessions"
Those three songs are her best, in my opinion. But I've been listening to her album "The Family Jewels" a lot lately and think there are a lot of good songs on it. Not only that, but the whole album does a decent job of capturing how I feel lately.
So ... I'm doing a Week of Marina this week. Read what you want into my song choices.
Second song, posted on YouTube by Barney4000:
"Marina & the Diamonds - Rootless [WITH LYRICS]"

I'm a cloud drifting by
Dripping tears from the sky
I'm a snail without a shell
A leper with a golden bell
I've got nowhere to go
I'm a stray cat on the roam
Choking on a chicken bone
For a home sweet, no sweet home
For a root, for a leaf, for a branch, for a tree
For something, somebody
That reminded them of me
Running with my roots pulled up
Caught me cold so they could cut
What there was left of love
I'm rootless (x2)
Work your fingers to the bone
Building castles out of snow
I'm a nomad walking on
Humming to the same old song
Lower case society
In touch with no community
A kingdom without a king
With no sense of belonging
For a root, for a leaf, for a branch, for a tree
For something, somebody
That reminded them of me
Running with my roots pulled up
Caught me cold so they could cut
What there was left of love
I'm rootless (x2)
Running with my roots pulled up
So they could cut me free of love
Running with my roots pulled up
Caught me cold so they could cut
What there was left of love
I'm rootless (x2)
Dragging my roots through the snow
For a home sweet and no sweet home
I've got nowhere to go
I'm rootless (x2)
