Our Mobile Planet
As an engineer (we love data) and a smartphone user, I really enjoyed this link. Check it out.
Our Mobile Planet:

It's amazing to see how many ways you can slice the data. Compare smartphone data by age, gender, country, and much more.
Or, if you don't like the interface on the website, go ahead and download the reports for each country or the raw data in Excel format.

One thing that caught my eye, and this is something I've suspected for some time now: In the U.S. 88% of smartphone users use their phones for entertainment (internet, games, music) while only 83% used their phones for communication (e-mail or social network--doesn't mention phone calls). I'm not clear why they didn't mention the percent that made calls with their phones. I know it sounds silly to talk about how many people use their phones to make phone calls. But I see fewer and fewer people using them for this purpose!
