Song of the Day: FKA twigs - Two Weeks

Love the intensity and confidence in this song.  Very direct.  And smoking hot.

"Two Weeks"

(Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin')
(Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin')
(Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin')

I know it hurts
You know, I'd quench that thirst
(I can treat you better than them)
You say you're lonely
I say you'll think about it
'Cause you're the only
One who resonates that chest
Mouth open like (High)

Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin' (Open your heart)
Flying like a screamin' falcon, on our ways to do each other (Open your heart)
Pull out the incisor, give me two weeks, you won't recognize her
Mouth open, you're high

I know it hurts
You know, I'd put you first
(I can fuck you better than her)
You say you want me
I say you'll live without it
Unless you're the only
One who instigates
Get your mouth, open your heart

Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin' (Open your heart)
Flying like a screamin' falcon, on our ways to do each other (Open your heart)
Pull out the incisor, give me two weeks, you won't recognize her
Mouth open, you're high

Feel your body closin', I can rip it open
Suck me up, I'm healin' for the shit you're dealin'
Smoke on your skin to get those pretty eyes rollin'
My thighs are apart for when you're ready to breathe in
Suck me up, I'm healin' for the shit you're dealin'
Hi, motherfucker, get your mouth open, you know you're mine

I'd put you first
Just close your eyes and dream about it
Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin'
I'll quench your thirst
Just chase around and stop your doubtin'
Flying like a screamin' falcon
On our ways to do each other (high, high, high, high)
Higher than a motherfucker, dreamin' of it, it's my lovin'
Flying like a screamin' falcon, on our ways to do each other (Open your heart)
Pull out the incisor, give me two weeks, you won't recognize her
Mouth open, you're high

Song of the Day: Greg Holden - Hold On Tight

Great song.  Powerful lyrics.  I've been listening to it over and over.

"Greg Holden - Hold On Tight (Audio)"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trjxeZJHC58
I'll try not to complain
About the things I have lost
Cause when you have something great
That just means there's a greater loss
So when you look at yourself
Tell me who do you see
Is it the person you been
Or the person you're gonna be
Don't take your life for granted
Why don't you hold on tight
To what you've been handed
Cause you just don't know how long you will have it

Lyrics, from Musixmatch:
https://www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/Greg-Holden/Hold-On-Tight#

I've been selling my name
For the sake of who knows
I've been trying to explain
How it's all gonna go
I don't take my life
For granted
I've been waking up tight
Day after day
Hope is taking it's time
To go my way
But I don't take my life for granted
I'm gonna hold on tight
To what I've been handed
Oh
I'll try not to complain
About the things I have lost
Cause when you have something great
That just means there's a greater loss
So when you look at yourself
Tell me who do you see
Is it the person you been
Or the person you're gonna be
Don't take your life for granted
Don't take your life for granted
Why don't you hold on tight
To what you've been handed
Oh
Oh Oh Oh
Oh
Oh Oh Oh
Oh
Oh Oh Oh
Oh Oh Oh
Don't take your life for granted
Don't take your life for granted
Don't take your life for granted
Why don't you hold on tight
To what you've been handed
Cause you just don't know how long you will have it

Song of the Day: Shura - Just Once

Another song by Shura.  Smoking hot.

Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost
I wanna get lost

Lyrics, from SongLyrics.com:

Shura - Just Once Lyrics

I’ve lost count
Of how many times we disagreed
But it’s the third time
We fought together this week.
Baby, it’s nothing,
Maybe I just need time on my own.

PRE-CHORUS:
Just once
I’m gonna go get drunk.

CHORUS:
If you get my name wrong
I won’t get pissed off
Cause I wish I was somebody else
You know nothing about me
I know nothing about you
But maybe the question (?)

Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost
I wanna get lost
Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost
I wanna get lost

I’m not sure
If I’m just thinking about it too much,
Or if I’m just looking
For an excuse for us to break up.
Maybe I want to, maybe I need to
If I do any I’ll tell you that I wanna let you go.

PRE-CHORUS:
Just once
I’m gonna go get drunk.

CHORUS:
If you get my name wrong
I won’t get pissed off
Cause I wish I was somebody else
You know nothing about me
I know nothing about you
But maybe the question (?)

Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost
I wanna get lost
Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost
I wanna get lost

CHORUS:
If you get my name wrong
I won’t get pissed off
Cause I wish I was somebody else.
You know nothing about me
I know nothing about you
But maybe the question (?)

Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost.
I wanna get lost.

Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost.
I wanna get lost.
Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost.
I wanna get lost. (I wanna get lost)
Have you ever been lost?
We could get lost.
I wanna get lost.

Song of the Day: Shura - Touch

This song came courtesy of YouTube, one of the songs recommended for me based on other songs I've listened to and liked in the past.  Looks like YouTube's predictions are pretty good!

Quote of the Day: Emily Dickinson, on Possibilities

Good quote to start the new year.
Not knowing when the dawn will come
I open every door.
― Emily Dickinson

I think that's a great attitude to start the year.

Exercise

Saw this article and I totally agree.

"6 Hard Truths About Exercising"

As I get older (sigh) I find I need to exercise more, to keep playing hockey at a decent level.  I've found all the things mentioned in the article to be true.  I joined a gym, and go at my usual time whenever I'm in town.  They track our progress.  They make us do the exercises/movements/lifting mentioned in the article, and many more.  We repeat certain workouts every few months, to see if we're making progress.  We learn new skills along the way (handstand holds against the walls, kipping pull-ups!).  I'm not sure that we start slow, but we do work a lot of form with light weight when people first join the gym, which is a way of starting slow I suppose.

Lots of different types of workouts out there, I wouldn't presume to preach about which is best.  Crossfit works for me, to keep me in shape for hockey.  But you need to find what works for you.

Schedule it.  Do it, whatever you choose to do.
